Award Choice Winners
The Saving Lives at Birth partners announced two special awards at the DevelopmentXChange – the Peer Choice Award and People’s Choice Award.
The Peer Choice Award was given to the innovator who best demonstrated innovative thinking and having the greatest potential for transformational change as chosen by the Saving Lives at Birth finalists. Monash University won for its novel approach of delivering oxytocin to women in resource-poor settings.
The People’s Choice Award was given to the most outstanding innovator as chosen by the attendees of the 2011 DevelopmentXChange and a popular online voting contest. With the highest number of votes across all 77 finalists, the collaboration team of University of California, San Francisio/Bixby Center/ARMMAN won for their voice messaging and animation service project in rural India entitled “Project mMitra.”
